Benedectines Abbey, Frauenchiemsee
on Fraueninsel Island:
Fraueninsel is one of the two small, inhabited
islands in Lake Chiemsee in beautiful upper Bavaria. Herreninsel,
the other island, hosts one of King Ludwigs castles. |

in 770 A.D. |
Lake Chiemsee is the largest lake in Bavaria located
90 km/55 miles southeast of Munich and about 70 km/45 miles from Salzburg,
Austria. |

There will be a bus shuttle service from Munich Airport to the Island.
Alternatively, the Abbey can also be reached by public transportation
from either Munich International Airport or Munich City Main Railway Station:
